StarQuad Construction
Traditional balanced cables use three cores of wire to carry audio signals: one shielded core for the hot/positive leg, one shielded core for the cold/negative leg (wired in reverse polarity), and an outer wrap functioning as ground. A balanced audio system effectively rejects most induced noise by removing signals common to both hot and cold legs.
StarQuad construction advances this concept using four cores instead of two: two cores each for hot/positive and cold/negative legs plus a dedicated ground. This further shields audio from RFI (radio frequency interference) more effectively than traditional 3-conductor cables.
Double-Reussen Shielding
Most cables use an outer wrap of wire as ground, either braided or tightly wrapped to shield interior wires from interference. Double-Reussen shielding surpasses traditional techniques in two critical ways: First, the cable features TWO separate shields, and second, the outer shield wraps in opposite direction to the inner shield. This creates superior RFI rejection and can result in astounding reduction of interference.
