What is StarQuad Construction?
Traditional balanced XLR cables use three conductors: one shielded core for the hot/positive leg, one for the cold/negative leg, and an outer shield serving as ground. Balanced signal design effectively rejects induced noise along the cable path by eliminating signals common to both legs. StarQuad construction advances this further by using four cores instead of two: two dedicated cores for the hot/positive leg and two for the cold/negative leg, plus a single ground. This enhanced design provides superior protection from RFI (radio frequency interference) compared to traditional 3-conductor cables, resulting in cleaner, more transparent audio transmission.
What is Double-Reussen Shielding?
