Description
WA-14: A 414 style microphone with vintage character!
The WA-14 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone based on the iconic 1970s model, used on countless hit recordings. It features a specially designed brass capsule of CK12 type, a CineMag USA transformer, and a fully discrete circuit. The WA-14 is ideal for a variety of applications, such as warm and punchy vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, strings, orchestral material and much more. It delivers authenticity and depth faithful to vintage microphone character, now at an affordable price.
Brass Capsule Design
The WA-12-B-60V is a brass capsule with edge-terminated design that reproduces the smoothness, warmth, and rich highs of the authentic CK12. It uses a CEK-12 type backplate to overcome the limitations of authentic CK12 capsule construction. All components – from the housing and o-ring to the 24k gold-plated diaphragm coating on 6-micron PET (mylar) film – are brass constructed, with no Teflon usage. The result is a stable, reliable capsule that perfectly matches the frequency response and tonality of the classic 1970s microphone.
