The Sontronics STC-1 is a high-quality cardioid condenser microphone, often referred to as a pencil condenser, specifically designed to capture detailed sound reproduction of musical instruments. Whether recording the delicate notes of a guitar, the rich tone of a violin, the intricate overhead drum patterns, or the melodic flow of a flute or clarinet, the STC-1 delivers exceptional clarity and precision.

Fine Diaphragm with Gold Sputtering:
The microphone features a fine diaphragm with gold sputtering, ensuring particularly sensitive and accurate sound capture, withstanding acoustic pressures up to 137dB without distortion.

High Sensitivity:
With sensitivity of 12mV/Pa and frequency response of -38dB ±2dB, the STC-1 captures even the finest sonic details, making it ideal for studio recording applications.

Three-Stage High-Pass Filter:
The microphone includes a flexible three-stage high-pass filter (0, 75, 150Hz), allowing you to reduce unwanted low-frequency noise and focus on the desired sound.

Pad Attenuation Switch:
The built-in pad switch (-10dB) provides extra dynamic headroom, allowing the microphone to handle louder sound sources without distortion, making it ideal for a wide range of recording applications.

Interchangeable Capsules:
The STC-1 offers the flexibility to switch between different polar patterns. In addition to the standard cardioid capsule, optional OMNI (omnidirectional) and hypercardioid capsules are available, extending the microphones versatility for various recording applications.
