Engineered for diverse applications including professional recording studios, home studios, live concerts, and radio broadcasts. It delivers exceptional sound quality on vocals, electric/acoustic guitars and bass, percussion, piano, strings, and wind instruments.
The 47 became exceptionally popular in the 1960s and is now considered one of the finest microphones ever manufactured. While still used today in professional recording studios, it remains extraordinarily rare and expensive.
K47 Capsule Clone
The WA-47 utilizes a meticulously crafted replica of the vintage K47 capsule used in the classic 47 – engineered with identical polar patterns and frequency response characteristics. Each Warm Audio capsule is manufactured in a clean room and carefully packaged individually in protective cases until installation. Every capsule undergoes rigorous visual and electronic inspection for quality assurance.
The WA-47 capsule (model# WA-47-B-80V) is precisely crafted by an Australian manufacturer whose exceptional accuracy and repeatability enable us to achieve the vintage characteristics essential to capturing the classic sonic signature this microphone demands.
The Transformer
The WA-47 features an American-manufactured output transformer (TAB-Funkenwerk AMI USA) with premium German-origin cores. This transformer delivers the smooth, extended high-end presence and the Larger Than Life low-end character expected from a classic-style microphone like the 47.
The Cable
One of the most critical yet often overlooked components in a condenser microphone setup is the 7-pin cable connecting the microphone to its power supply. Through extensive listening sessions with WA-47 and other condenser microphones, we learned that the shielding diameter and wire gauge of 7-pin cables dramatically affect the sonic outcome. We partnered with Gotham Audio in Switzerland to incorporate their meticulously engineered GAC-7 (7-pin) cable.
This premium cable enhances high-frequency presence, reduces phase shift, and eliminates parasitic effects commonly introduced by inferior cable designs. Gotham Audio is exceptionally high-quality cable and represents a significant value addition to the WA-47 package.
Capacitors
The WA-47 employs polystyrene coupling capacitors for uncolored frequency response, complemented by premium Wima and Solen French film capacitors and TAB-Funkenwerk AMI (USA) output transformer.
