The passive Direct Box PDB™ is a rugged and durable DI box designed to connect outputs from electronic musical instruments (or other audio sources) to balanced inputs on mixing consoles and other equipment with balanced inputs.
The PDB™ also allows connection of musical sources to an organ amplifier while simultaneously connecting to a mixing console.
PDB Applications: Electric Guitar and Bass Signals – The high-impedance signal from a guitar or bass is converted by the PDB™ into a low-impedance balanced signal required by mixing consoles.
Keyboard and Line-Level Signals – The PDB™ automatically balances and matches the line-level outputs from modern keyboards. When using multiple keyboards in your setup connected to an organ amplifier, the PDB™ can replace dedicated direct boxes for each keyboard. Simply route the organ amplifier output to the PDB™ and then to the console (instead of a separate DI box for each keyboard).
DJ Console Output Signals – DJ mixers often feature only unbalanced -10dB signals. The PDB™ converts this signal into balanced line-level before reaching the console, providing proper methods for multi-channel wiring and connection.
Speaker-Level Signals – The PDB™ ability to accept speaker-level input signals from an amplifier output enables post-amplifier, post-EQ, and effects feeding directly from the console. This way, an amplifier effect or sound can be sent directly to the mix.
